Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
|
Last Updated: August 29 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of betasfirm.com and the webpages, content, features, appointment links, and resources made available through the website by BETAS Firm LLC, doing business as Best Emerald’s Tax & Advisory Services (“BETAS Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of the website.
This website provides general information about BETAS Firm and allows visitors to learn about available services, submit general inquiries, and request or schedule appointments. Website content is not a substitute for personalized tax, legal, financial, insurance, medical, or other professional advice.
These Terms of Use do not replace any engagement letter, service agreement, transportation agreement, insurance or carrier document, payment authorization, disclosure, application, or other agreement applicable to a specific service. If these Terms conflict with a signed or service-specific agreement, the service-specific agreement will control for that service.
──────────── ◆ ────────────
1. Website Purpose and Service Availability
The BETAS Firm website is provided for general informational, educational, communication, and appointment-scheduling purposes. It may contain information about tax preparation and planning, bookkeeping and business support, document assistance, financial wellness education, transportation, and other services provided by BETAS Firm. It may also contain information about insurance and Medicare-related services provided separately by Shevamae Butler in her individual capacity as an independent licensed insurance producer.
Descriptions of services on this website are not binding offers, guarantees, or commitments that a particular service, product, appointment, professional, carrier, provider, or outcome will be available.
Service availability may vary based on location, licensing, certification, eligibility, staffing, scheduling, carrier or provider appointments, underwriting requirements, government-agency requirements, and applicable laws or regulations.
Submitting an inquiry or requesting an appointment does not guarantee that BETAS Firm or an applicable independent service provider will accept an engagement, provide a particular service, or achieve a specific result.
2. No Professional Relationship or Personalized Advice
Accessing this website, reviewing its content, submitting a general inquiry, or requesting or scheduling an appointment does not by itself create a client, tax-preparer, advisor, fiduciary, transportation-provider, attorney-client, healthcare-provider, or other professional relationship with BETAS Firm. It also does not create an insurance-producer relationship with Shevamae Butler.
A professional or service relationship begins only after BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider confirms acceptance of the engagement and any required service agreement, engagement letter, identity verification, payment, authorization, application, or onboarding process has been completed. Insurance and Medicare-related relationships are accepted separately by Shevamae Butler in her individual capacity as an independent licensed insurance producer.
Information provided on this website is general and educational. It is not personalized tax, legal, investment, securities, financial, insurance, medical, eligibility, or government-benefit advice. You should not rely on website content as the sole basis for making a decision or meeting a filing, payment, enrollment, renewal, application, or other deadline.
Please do not submit confidential or sensitive information until BETAS Firm, Shevamae Butler, or the applicable service provider directs you to an approved secure platform or submission method.
3. Permitted Use and User Responsibilities
You may use this website only for lawful purposes, including learning about BETAS Firm, reviewing available services, submitting a general inquiry, and requesting or scheduling an appointment.
When using the website, you are responsible for:
- Providing information that is accurate and not misleading
- Submitting only information that you are legally authorized to provide
- Obtaining appropriate permission before providing information about another person
- Maintaining the security of your own device, email account, passwords, and internet connection
- Reviewing applicable service agreements, disclosures, carrier documents, platform terms, and instructions
- Keeping track of your own filing, payment, enrollment, renewal, application, appointment, and other deadlines unless BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider has accepted responsibility for a specific deadline in writing.
If you use the website on behalf of another person, business, or organization, you represent that you have authority to act on their behalf.
The website, contact forms, email, text messages, and appointment-scheduling tools are not monitored continuously and must not be used for emergencies. For a medical, transportation, safety, or other emergency, call 911 or the appropriate emergency service.
4. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the BETAS Firm website, appointment links, forms, or communication features to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Provide false, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority or affiliation
- Submit another person’s private or sensitive information without appropriate authorization
- Make false, repetitive, automated, or intentionally disruptive appointment requests
- Harass, threaten, abuse, defame, or unlawfully discriminate against another person
- Send spam, unauthorized advertising, solicitations, or promotional messages
- Upload, transmit, or introduce viruses, malicious code, or other harmful material
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, accounts, systems, networks, or information
- Test, scan, probe, disable, overload, disrupt, or interfere with website security or operation
- Scrape, copy, harvest, or extract website content or information through unauthorized automated methods
- Infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other legal rights
- Assist or encourage another person to engage in any prohibited activity
BETAS Firm may restrict access, block communications, cancel suspicious appointment requests, preserve relevant records, or report suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities when reasonably necessary.
5. Appointments, Scheduling, and Payments
Appointments requested through the website or a third-party scheduling platform are subject to availability and confirmation. Submitting an appointment request does not guarantee that an appointment, service, professional, carrier, provider, vehicle, or requested time will be available.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information, selecting the appropriate service when possible, attending appointments on time, and following the cancellation or rescheduling instructions provided with your booking.
Applicable consultation fees, deposits, cancellation terms, rescheduling requirements, missed-appointment policies, transportation charges, and refund terms may be displayed on the booking page, appointment confirmation, invoice, service agreement, or other service-specific document. Those specific terms will control the applicable appointment or service.
BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider may cancel, decline, or reschedule an appointment when reasonably necessary because of availability, weather, safety concerns, incomplete information, payment issues, technology problems, licensing or eligibility restrictions, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Payments made through third-party processors are also subject to the processor’s terms and privacy practices. BETAS Firm does not ask clients to submit complete payment-card or banking information through ordinary email, text messages, or general website forms.
6. Electronic Communications
When you provide a telephone number or email address through the website, contact BETAS Firm, or request an appointment, you authorize BETAS Firm, the applicable independent service provider, and their communication or scheduling providers to contact you regarding your inquiry, appointment, requested service, account, documents, payment, or other service-related matters.
Communications may include telephone calls, email messages, text messages, appointment confirmations, reminders, rescheduling notices, requests for general information, and service updates. Message and data rates may apply.
Providing contact information for an inquiry or appointment does not by itself constitute consent to receive automated promotional calls or text messages when separate consent is required by law. Marketing communications will be sent only as permitted by applicable law and will include an appropriate method to opt out when required.
You may request that nonessential communications stop. To revoke consent for text messages, reply “STOP” when that option is supported, or contact BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider directly. After a revocation, another lawful communication method may be used when necessary to respond to your request or administer an existing service.
Email and text messaging are not guaranteed to be secure or delivered without delay. Do not send Social Security numbers, tax documents, banking information, medical records, insurance applications, passwords, or other sensitive information through ordinary email or text messages.
BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider may use third-party electronic-signature platforms for certain documents. You are responsible for reviewing each document and the platform’s applicable terms before signing electronically.
7. Third-Party Websites, Links, and Platforms
The BETAS Firm website may contain links to, integrations with, or features provided by third-party websites and platforms. These may include:
- Appointment-scheduling services
- Website hosting and analytics providers
- Secure client and tax-document portals
- Payment-processing services
- Electronic-signature platforms
- Insurance, Medicare, carrier, and provider systems
- Government-agency websites
- Mapping and transportation tools
- Email, telephone, and text-messaging services
- Social-media websites
- Other professional service platforms
BETAS Firm does not operate or control every third-party website or platform. Your access to and use of an outside service may be governed by that provider’s own terms of use, privacy policy, security practices, fees, eligibility requirements, and other conditions.
A link to an outside website does not mean that BETAS Firm controls or endorses all information, products, services, opinions, privacy practices, or security procedures available through that website.
BETAS Firm is not responsible for changes, outages, delays, errors, security incidents, content, or actions caused by a third-party platform, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
If a third-party platform’s terms conflict with these Terms of Use, the provider’s terms will govern your use of that platform. Any separate agreement between you and BETAS Firm will continue to govern services provided directly by BETAS Firm. Any separate agreement between you and an independent service provider will govern the services provided separately by that provider.
8. Intellectual Property
The BETAS Firm name, Best Emerald’s Tax & Advisory Services name, branding, bear logo, website design, written content, graphics, photographs, videos, icons, downloadable materials, and other website content are owned by BETAS Firm, licensed to BETAS Firm, used with permission, or owned by their respective third-party providers.
Website content may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Nothing on the website transfers ownership or grants you a license to use BETAS Firm’s names, branding, logos, or other protected materials except as expressly stated.
You may view, download, or print reasonable portions of the website for your personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, modify, publicly display, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit website content without prior written permission from BETAS Firm or the applicable rights holder, except when permitted by law.
Third-party names, logos, products, photographs, graphics, and trademarks appearing on the website remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance does not necessarily indicate sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.
9. Accuracy, Updates, Availability, and Results
BETAS Firm makes reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate website information. However, website content may contain errors, omissions, or information that becomes outdated.
Tax laws, filing requirements, government programs, eligibility standards, insurance products, carrier requirements, underwriting decisions, premiums, benefit amounts, service areas, appointment availability, transportation schedules, fees, and other information may change without notice.
BETAS Firm may correct, update, replace, suspend, or remove website content or features at any time. We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, current, complete, or free from technical errors.
Information displayed on the website does not guarantee:
- A tax refund, tax savings, credit, deduction, or specific tax result
- Approval of an application or benefit, issuance of an insurance policy, acceptance of an enrollment request, or approval for a government program
- Eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, financial, tax, or other services
- A particular premium, rate, benefit amount, underwriting decision, or carrier offer
- A particular appointment time, transportation arrival time, route, travel duration, or service availability
- Any specific financial, legal, business, health, or personal outcome
Important information should be confirmed directly with BETAS Firm, the applicable government agency, carrier, provider, platform, or other qualified professional before you make a decision or rely on it.
10. Service-Specific Notices
Tax and Business Services
Tax, bookkeeping, and business information on this website is general and does not constitute advice for a particular taxpayer or business. Tax results depend on each client’s facts, records, elections, filing history, and applicable law. Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate information. BETAS Firm accepts responsibility for a tax matter or deadline only when confirmed in a written engagement agreement.
Document Assistance
Document-preparation and application-assistance services are limited to administrative support and information provided by the client or issuing agency. BETAS Firm is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation or legal advice. Clients should consult a qualified attorney when legal advice or representation is required.
Financial Wellness Information
Financial wellness content is educational and is not securities, investment, portfolio-management, or individualized financial-planning advice. No website content guarantees financial growth, savings, income, investment performance, or protection from loss.
Insurance and Medicare-related services are provided separately by Shevamae Butler in her individual capacity as an independent licensed insurance producer. These activities are conducted under her individual licenses, required certifications, applicable carrier appointments, and governing legal and regulatory requirements. They are not provided by BETAS Firm.
BETAS Firm’s role is limited to website, scheduling, communication, intake, document-transmission, and other administrative support. BETAS Firm is not an insurance producer or insurance carrier and does not recommend, underwrite, issue, administer, approve, or guarantee any policy, plan, premium, benefit, claim, enrollment, or carrier decision.
Availability depends on Shevamae Butler’s active state licensing, required certifications, carrier appointments, client eligibility, underwriting requirements, service area, and other applicable requirements.
BETAS Firm and Shevamae Butler are not Medicare, Medicaid, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Social Security Administration, or any other government agency, and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency.
11. Website Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the BETAS Firm website and its content, links, features, and resources are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
BETAS Firm does not make warranties or representations that:
- The website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors or harmful components
- Website content will always be complete, accurate, current, or suitable for every purpose
- Technical problems, broken links, transmission delays, or third-party platform issues will be corrected immediately
- Use of the website will produce a particular professional, financial, tax, insurance, benefit, transportation, or personal result
To the extent permitted by law, BETAS Firm disclaims implied warranties relating to the website, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.
This website disclaimer does not eliminate any warranty, consumer right, professional obligation, or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded. It also does not override an express obligation contained in a separate written agreement signed or accepted by BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BETAS Firm and its owners, personnel, contractors, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to:
- Access to, use of, or inability to use the website
- Reliance on general website information
- Website errors, omissions, interruptions, delays, or security incidents
- Lost data, revenue, profits, business opportunities, or anticipated savings
- Third-party websites, platforms, products, services, content, or actions
- Unauthorized access to communications or information transmitted through nonsecure methods
- Decisions made without obtaining appropriate personalized professional advice
This limitation applies only to claims related to the website and does not replace or override responsibilities expressly accepted by BETAS Firm or the applicable independent service provider in a separate written service agreement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any obligation, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Suspension and Termination of Website Access
BETAS Firm may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to all or part of the website when reasonably necessary to:
- Address a violation of these Terms of Use
- Protect website security, systems, information, personnel, clients, or the public
- Prevent fraud, harassment, spam, unauthorized access, or unlawful activity
- Investigate suspicious or abusive conduct
- Perform maintenance, repairs, updates, or technical changes
- Comply with legal, regulatory, carrier, provider, or government-agency requirements
- Discontinue or modify a website feature or service
BETAS Firm may also block communications or cancel suspicious, fraudulent, abusive, repetitive, or unauthorized appointment requests.
You may stop using the website at any time.
Restriction or termination of website access does not automatically terminate an existing client or service relationship. Any active engagement may be ended only according to the applicable service agreement, professional requirements, and law.
Provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law, and other terms that reasonably should continue will survive termination of website access.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Use are generally governed by the laws of the State of Alaska and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections or other rights that cannot legally be waived will continue to apply.
Before beginning formal legal proceedings concerning the website, you and BETAS Firm are encouraged to attempt to resolve the matter in good faith. A written notice should include:
- Your name and contact information
- A description of the issue
- Relevant dates or communications
- The resolution you are requesting
A dispute notice may be sent using the contact information at the end of these Terms.
An informal resolution attempt does not prevent either party from seeking emergency or injunctive relief, contacting a regulator or government agency, filing a consumer complaint, or exercising any right that cannot legally be restricted. It also does not extend any applicable legal deadline or limitation period.
Except when applicable law requires otherwise, legal proceedings concerning these Terms or use of the website may be brought in a state or federal court with appropriate jurisdiction in Alaska.
Nothing in this section requires private arbitration or waives the right to participate in a class or collective action.
15. Severability, No Waiver, and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited only to the extent reasonably necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
A delay or failure by BETAS Firm to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive the right to enforce that provision or another provision later.
Section headings are provided for convenience and do not change the meaning of these Terms.
These Terms of Use, together with the Privacy Policy and any notices expressly incorporated into them, constitute the general agreement concerning use of the BETAS Firm website.
These Terms do not replace any signed engagement letter, service agreement, invoice terms, booking policy, application, disclosure, carrier document, payment authorization, transportation agreement, or other service-specific agreement. Those documents will govern the applicable service and will control if their terms conflict with these general website Terms of Use.
16. Changes to These Terms
BETAS Firm may update these Terms of Use periodically to reflect changes in the website, services, technology, business practices, or applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
When these Terms are updated, we will revise the “Last Updated” date displayed at the top of this page. We may also provide an additional website notice when a change is significant.
Updated Terms will apply prospectively from the stated effective date unless applicable law requires additional notice or consent. Changes will not retroactively alter a signed service agreement or obligations already accepted under that agreement unless the agreement is amended according to its own terms.
If you do not agree with an updated version of these Terms, you should discontinue future use of the website.
